Newspaper report of the railroad accident where Buckley Thatcher was killed

Fatal Accident on the New York Central
  Railroad—A Citizen of Medina County
  Killed.

  Oneida, Sept. 16—10 A. M.—The afternoon
Express, going west, standing at this station about
3 o'clock was run into by a freight train going
west. The Express train was behind time.
  The passenger cars of the Express train were
badly broken, and many passengers injured.
  The following is the list of serious casualties:
  Buckley Thatcher, of Litchfield, Medina Co.,
Ohio, killed.
  Patrick Wall, of Manchester, Vt, both thighs
broken. His brother, in the same car, injured in
the foot.
  Jno. A. Vaughn, Syracuse, both thighs frac-
tured.
  Edward Jewett, New Haven, Conn., badly hurt
about the head and neck.
  Many passengers, more or less injured, left on
the train sent from Syracuse.
  Coroner White is holding an inquest.
