This is the church where the earliest known Thacher in the line was vicar for 50 years.
The house on the right, closest to the church, is the old vicarage.

It is said that there is a memorial plaque to a John Jones (died 1605) in the church, whose son Richard emigrated to America. Richard Jones was the brother of Dorothy Jones who married Richard Sears (Jim's ancestor) and of Elizabeth Jones who married Antony Thacher (Carol's ancestor). Other sources say that the elder Jones was named George. My…
